Nicole Hilgers Counselor

Meet Nicole Hilgers

CHMC Intern

Nicole is pursuing her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Art Therapy at Antioch University. Throughout the landscape of her career, she has worked extensively with children and families, developing a particular passion for the perinatal period.

Drawing from multiple therapeutic approaches, Nicole integrates Art Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Gestalt Theory, Narrative Therapy, and Somatic and Mindfulness practices. She recognizes that the needs of each individual are unique and therefore collaborates with them to determine the most effective therapeutic approach.

As a former art educator and current fiber arts enthusiast, Nicole has witnessed the therapeutic effects of art making and believes that creativity can be a powerful aid in the healing process. As an intern therapist, Nicole recognizes the importance of holding an environment of warmth, safety, and compassion.

A Note from Nicole:

I believe that each client brings many stories and identities that must be held with great care in order for the client’s system to allow access to healing. I believe the client-therapist relationship is one of great honor and importance and that the landscape of the therapeutic journey will be uniquely co-created by the two.
