Meet Meredith LaPlante

MA, LMHCA

Meredith LaPlante, MA, LMHCA, brings warmth, curiosity, and depth to her work with clients. She earned her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology, where she completed a psychoanalytic concentration that included a year-long infant observation. This formative experience continues to inform her psychodynamic and relational approach, attuning her to the subtleties of early attachment, emotion, and the therapeutic relationship.

Meredith’s clinical work is grounded in psychodynamic theory and draws from Lifespan Integration, Internal Family Systems (parts work), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. She is passionate about helping clients explore the roots of their experiences, cultivate self-compassion, and navigate meaningful change—particularly during the perinatal season, a time that often invites profound personal growth and transformation.

Before becoming a counselor, Meredith earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of California, Irvine, and taught high school Latin and English. After becoming a mother, her interest in human development deepened, leading her to earn a Certificate in Early Learning from Bellingham Technical College (BTC). Her years attending parent-child classes with her three children reinforced her belief in the power of community and support during the early years. Now that her children are older, she enjoys spending time with them—bike camping, exploring new trails, and sharing favorite shows together.

A Note from Meredith:

I strive to create a therapeutic space where you can explore your inner world without fear of judgment, fostering a deep connection with yourself and your emotions. Together, we'll navigate the complexities of the perinatal period with compassion and curiosity, recognizing the importance of emotional safety and trauma-informed care.

My goal is to guide you toward greater self-awareness, healing, and personal growth.
