Becky Schayes
CNM, ARNP
Becky Schayes is a Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP). She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Lewis & Clark and College in 2003, and returned to school at the University of Washington School of Nursing in 2008, where she earned a Bachelor of Nursing in 2009 and a Master’s of Nursing in Nurse-Midwifery in 2013. She has dedicated her career to providing women access to the midwifery model of care beyond pregnancy and birth.
Over the course of her 10 years of private practice in Whatcom County she has brought her healing work under many roofs. Starting at Birthroot Midwives and Birth Center, Becky expanded her practice in 2015 and opened Bellingham Center for Healthy Motherhood, co-supporting hundreds of mothers for 5 years. Becky transformed her practice in 2020 to join Bellingham Natural Family Medicine bringing her expertise in women's reproductive healthcare.
After a year of a healing sabbatical, and a move to Minnesota to care for her aging mother, Becky is now eager and thrilled to be a part of Mobile Mama to continue her work supporting mothers in Whatcom County. As a virtual care provider, she is also pleased to have an opportunity to help expand Mobile Mama’s practice offerings to include medication management for women with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and support for all of the life stages from fertility and conception through motherhood.
Outside of clinic work, she is also a community activist. She is a co-founder of the Whatcom Perinatal Mental Health Task Force, served on the board of Unity Care NW for 6 years, and has developed and delivered several trainings in Whatcom County. She has two bold and vibrant children who continue to be her richest teachers in life.
