Meet Aliya Qadri
CMHC Intern
Aliya’s passion for perinatal wellness and support inspired her to pursue a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Antioch University Seattle after obtaining her bachelor’s degree in Community Psychology at the University of Washington.
Aliya approaches counseling with warmth and respect for every parent’s unique journey and experiences. Her integrated approach to therapy is trauma-informed and includes Client-Centered Therapy, Emotions-Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, and Feminist Theory. At the heart of her work with clients, Aliya respects and acknowledges the many facets of each client’s personhood, including the individual, relational, structural, and cultural contexts present. Aliya personalizes counseling accordingly to fit each person’s specific needs, goals, and overall wellness during this season of life.
Aliya grew up in Seattle, just steps away from the UW Campus and now lives in Bothell with her two young children. She enjoys soccer, reading a good book on cold winter days, and exploring good food at local, family-owned restaurants with family and friends.
