Meet Alexa Zastko
CMHC Intern
Alexa earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Washington and is currently pursuing her Master of Arts in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Seattle University. Inspired by her own experiences as a mother, Alexa chose to focus her clinical work on perinatal mental health, and integrates attachment theory, polyvagal theory, somatic practices, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy in her approach. She works from a trauma-informed and collaborative perspective, believing that healing grows from safety, connection, and each client’s innate capacity for resilience.
Alexa is passionate about walking alongside mothers as they navigate the labyrinth of pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenting. Alexa values tailoring the counseling process to each client’s unique needs and honors the relational, cultural, and systemic contexts that shape their journey. She understands the tender mix of joy and overwhelm that can accompany sleepless nights, shifting identities, and the weight of new responsibilities. Alexa believes no one should face these changes alone and that resilience is nurtured through compassion, connection, and support.
Outside of Mobile Mama, Alexa enjoys time with her husband and two children, exploring Bellingham through food, watercolor painting, long walks, and cozy rainy-day adventures.
