Meet Kate Cascella

Counselor, MSW, LICSW

Kate is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and received her Master’s in Social Work from Saint Louis University in 2013. Kate’s interest in supporting women during the perinatal period sparked while working on the Childbirth Center at PeaceHealth St. Joseph’s Medical Center for nearly 6 years. In addition to supporting women in their journey to parenthood, Kate also has a passion to help women who have experienced infant loss or are struggling with infertility.

In speaking with numerous moms over the years it seemed too often women reported trudging through disruptive thoughts and emotions and/or postpartum mood and anxiety disorders on their own. When Kate became a mother herself roughly three years ago, she truly understood that it takes a village during the transition to motherhood.

Kate was born and raised in Saint Louis, Missouri. Since moving to Bellingham with her husband in 2015, they have enjoyed the breathtaking landscapes of the Pacific Northwest with their two sons and two black labs.

A Note from Kate:

I am an empathetic listener who understands the necessity of having a nonjudgmental space that gives women the opportunity to reflect, feel, and address their own needs. I meet women where they are in their journey and utilize an integrative approach based on each client’s individual goals. I combine Mindfulness techniques, Interpersonal Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to support a client to effectively navigate through this vulnerable time.
